What is Code Red?

Recently, I read an article titled "ChatGPT Caused 'Code Red' at Google, Report Says." What exactly is Code Red?

In the software industry, Code Red is a term used to indicate urgent and critical issues, often referring to severe software bugs or system errors. It describes a state of emergency that requires immediate attention to resolve security threats or critical problems, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

Google perceived ChatGPT as a potential risk to its core search business and issued a Code Red to evaluate and address this strategic threat immediately. This usage of Code Red differs slightly from its traditional use in the software industry, emphasizing a business or strategic crisis rather than a technical issue.
