Inline Math

Wrap the formula with $...$ to render it within a sentence.

$x + y = 1$

$x+y=1$

Block Math

Wrap the formula with $$...$$ to render it as a centered block. Depending on the environment, $$ can be on the same line or may need to be on separate lines for proper rendering.

$$
x + y = 1
$$
